The purpose of the bass fishing team is to utilize and to further develop the skills of students interested in competitive sport fishing.  Additionally, students develop an awareness of the benefits of outdoor recreation and the importance of preserving our natural resources.  (Students are responsible for providing their own equipment, including fishing gear and a life jacket.)

The team participates in the IHSA regional competition, from which the top three teams advance to the IHSA state competition.  Depending on availability, the team may also participate in additional competitions.

All Mater Dei students are welcome to join the bass fishing team.
