SPANISH LANGUAGE TEACHER (posted 11-24-2025)

Mater Dei Catholic High School is seeking experienced candidates for a permanent, full-time secondary-level Spanish teaching position (language and literature).

This Spanish teaching position includes the following expectations:

  • teach Spanish language and literature subjects
  • prepare course objectives and study outlines according to curriculum guidelines and requirements
  • teach Spanish vocabulary, diction, grammar, and semantics
  • incorporate classroom learning activities
  • develop a well-rounded curriculum that enables students’ abilities in reading, writing, listening, and speaking both formally and conversationally
  • establish and enforce education rules to maintain instructional order
  • provide conversational classes for practicing pronunciation and important expressions
  • teach basic composition classes
  • research current teaching materials and instructional methods
  • organize fun events to showcase the students’ Spanish-language skills
  • assign coursework and homework, administer tests, and grade student performance
  • schedule and prepare students for oral and written examinations
  • assess students’ progress and analyze the data to drive instructional decisions
  • develop lesson plans based on the needs of individual students
  • recommend additional learning resources and provide intervention sessions for students requiring extra support
  • maintain accurate and complete student records and prepare reports on students’ progress
  • attend all regularly-scheduled team planning and evaluation meetings and staff development sessions

Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • a bachelor’s degree in, or with a concentration/specialization in, linguistics, secondary education, general education, or other related fields
  • at least one-year of prior teaching experience in related fields
  • have specialized knowledge in the teaching area as shown by (1) possessing a bachelor’s degree in the teaching area, or (2) possessing any U.S. state teaching license with an endorsement in the teaching area, or (3) possessing a minimum of three years of work experience teaching the particular subject, or (4) completion of an undergraduate/graduate degree program taught in the Spanish language, or (5) possessing a similar professional standard in demonstrating expertise in the teaching area

Compensation includes a salary (per year) of $45,280 and standard benefits.
