For thirty years the Mater Dei Calendar Drive has been an annual campaign drive under the direction of the Advancement Office and has become a very important part of the total fundraising effort of the school. The calendar is a 365-day raffle that highlights all the activities that occur during the school year. The calendar drive attempts to raise $85,000.00 a year to the operating cash flow of Mater Dei High School.
The key component to this successful campaign is the support and efforts of the Mater Dei community. The student body is the main group responsible for the success of the drive. Each student is expected to sell at least eight calendars. Mater Dei depends on the student body to carry the load during the campaign. Parents, friends, teachers (especially homeroom teachers, as this is where the calendar money is collected each day during the drive) and administrators are all involved in this campaign. Generally, Mater Dei sells over 4,400 calendars annually. The cost of the calendar is $25.00 with a total payout of $21,150.00 in prize money.
Calendars are available from Mater Dei students or by calling the Mater Dei Office (618-526-7216). Calendars can be sent to anyone wishing to purchase one.
