Congratulations to Mason Schrage, our Student of the Week for the week of January 18!  In her nomination, Campus Minister Ms. Colleen McDermott stated, “I am pleased to nominate Mason as our Student of the Week!  During the week, Mason serves as a faith formation teacher for St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers. Each morning, Mason is at Albers Elementary ready to teach by 7:30 a.m. When I observed Mason teaching, he was passionate and enthusiastic about teaching the Catholic faith to the 5th grade students.  He was able to knowledgeably answer all of the students’ questions while also showing respect for them no matter what questions they had for him. Mason is a tremendous asset to the faith formation program and truly exemplifies the Mater Dei spirit in all he does for his students. Thank you for all you do, Mason!”  Mason is the son of Daniel and Tammy Schrage of Damiansville and a member of St. Damian Catholic Church.

Congratulations to freshman Annabella Triplett, our Student of the Week for the week of January 25!  In his nomination, Spanish teacher Mr. Joe McNamara stated, “Anabella is an exemplary Mater Dei student!  In Spanish III, Anabella exhibits a strong work ethic and a positive attitude, as well as an impressive aptitude for Spanish.  She has a genuine love for learning.  Accordingly, Anabella serves as a terrific role model for her classmates.  What’s more, both inside and outside of the classroom, Anabella extends unconditional respect to others.  Congratulations, Annabella!”  Annabella is the daughter of Henry and Casey Triplett of O’Fallon and a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church.
