The Mater Dei community is pleased to announce the Students of the Quarter for the second quarter of the 2025-2026 academic year. These students were selected by the administration and faculty from the list of students who earned high honor roll or honor roll recognition. Senior Reagan Woomer, son of Nathan and Jordan Myers of Odin. Throughout his academic career, Reagan has enrolled in nearly all honors courses for English and math, including English Composition 101 and English Composition 102 as a senior. For his academic achievements, he has earned honor roll recognition for eleven quarters. He also earned two College Board awards – the Rural and Small Town Recognition Award and the School Recognition Award. Outside the classroom, Reagan is a four-year member of the basketball team (current captain), Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) (current treasurer), Pep Club, and the track team; a three-year member of National Honor Society; and a two-year member of the golf team and Marketing Club. In track, he holds the record for the 400m dash and is a member of the record-holding 4x400m relay. In his community, Reagan volunteers as a youth basketball coach. Finally, he is a member of St. Mary Catholic Church (Carlyle). Following graduation, Reagan plans to pursue a degree in sports medicine but has not yet selected an educational institution.
Senior Peyton Muscarello, daughter of Dominic and Lynn Muscarello of Breese. Throughout her academic career, Peyton has enrolled in multiple honors courses for English, math, and science, including English Composition 101 and English Composition 102 as a senior. For her academic achievements, she has earned honor roll recognition for fourteen quarters and an academic letter her junior year. Outside the classroom, Peyton is a four-year member of Concert Band, Liturgical Planning Team, Marching Band (current section leader), Pep Band, Pep Club, Sisters in Christ, Student Ambassadors, Student Council (current treasurer), and Teens for Life (current secretary), and a three-year member of National Honor Society. For three years, she has received the Christian Service Award. She has also received awards for Liturgical Planning Team (two years) and Student Council. Finally, Peyton is a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, where she serves as a Breese Youth Ministry member (current secretary), confirmation retreat leader, and extraordinary minister of Holy Communion. Following graduation, she plans to attend Illinois State University to pursue a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders.
Junior Hayden Melone, son of Peter and Courtney Melone of Trenton. Since his freshman year, Hayden has enrolled in all honors courses for English, math, and science. As a junior, his courses include Algebra II Honors, Chemistry Honors, and English III Honors. For his academic achievements, he has earned honor roll recognition for ten quarters, an academic letter his sophomore year, and an award for World History. Outside the classroom, Hayden is a three-year member of the baseball team and the soccer team and a two-year member of National Honor Society. Finally, Hayden is a member of St. Mary Catholic Church (Trenton).
Junior Lila Huelsmann, daughter of Kurt and Julia Huelsmann of Aviston. Since her freshman year, Lila has enrolled in all honors courses for English, math, and science. As a junior, her courses include Algebra II & Trigonometry Honors, Chemistry Honors, and English III Honors. For her academic achievements, she has earned honor roll recognition for ten quarters, an academic letter her sophomore year, and awards for Algebra I Honors, Geometry Honors, Spanish II, and Theology I. She also earned the College Board Rural & Small-Town Recognition Award. Outside the classroom, Lila is a three-year member of the volleyball team, a two-year member of National Honor Society, and a first-year member of FBLA and Student Ambassadors. In the community, she serves as an assistant coach and volunteers as a leader at camps and clinics for Blue Steel Volleyball Club. Finally, Lila is a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, where she serves as a church picnic volunteer.
Sophomore Bodie Brockmeier, son of Brandon and Amanda Brockmeier of Bartelso. In both his freshman and sophomore year, Bodie enrolled in honors courses for English. This year, his courses include English II Honors. For his academic achievements, he has earned honor roll recognition for four quarters. Outside the classroom, Bodie is a two-year member of the football team and the soccer team. Finally, Bodie is a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church.
Sophomore Alexis Eversgerd, daughter of Kevin and Meghan Eversgerd of Aviston. In both her freshman and sophomore year, Alexis enrolled in honors courses for English and math. This year, her courses include Biology Honors, English II Honors, and Geometry Honors. For her academic achievements, she has earned honor roll recognition for six quarters and an award for Health. Outside the classroom, Alexis is a two-year member of the cheerleading team, Student Ambassadors, and the track team; and a first-year member of the cross country team, Marketing Club, and Student Council. She has also served as a class officer for two years (current president). Finally, Alexis is a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Freshman Dane Kohlbrecher, son of Kevin and Angie Kohlbrecher of Aviston. In his first year at Mater Dei, Dane’s courses include Algebra I Honors and Physical Science Honors. Outside the classroom, he is a member of Concert Band, the cross country team, Marching Band, Pep Band, Scholar Bowl, Student Council, Teens for Life, and the track team. Finally, Dane is a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, where he serves as an altar server and Catholic Youth Ministry (CYM) member.
Freshman Emma Heiligenstein, daughter of Steve and Susan Heiligenstein of Centralia. In her first year at Mater Dei, Emma enrolled in college-preparatory courses. Outside the classroom, she is a member of Art Club, Chorus, Concert Band, the fall play crew, Liturgical Music Group, Marching Band, Pep Band, the spring musical crew, and the yearbook staff. In her community, she volunteers for Meals on Wheels. Finally, Emma is a member of St. Mary Catholic Church (Carlyle), where she serves as a Vacation Bible School volunteer.
