Congratulations to junior Trevor Wesselmann, our Student of the Week for the week of March 2!  In his nomination, Building Trades instructor Mr. Mark Huelskamp stated, “Each day, Trevor arrives to Building Trades wearing his tool belt and prepared to learn and to work.  More importantly, he is willing to ask questions when he needs assistance with a task.  It is my pleasure to have Trevor in Building Trades!”   Trevor is the son of Randy Wesselmann of Germantown and Leah Evans of Kings Mountain, NC, and a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.  He will receive certificates for a slice of pizza, donut, and soda courtesy of Casey’s General Store.

Alayna Brandmeyer
Congratulations to junior Alayna Brandmeyer, our Student of the Week for the week of March 9!  In her nomination, theology teacher Ms. Miriah Harris stated, “It is with much excitement that I select Alayna Brandmeyer as our Student of the Week. I greatly look forward to seeing Alayna come into the classroom with not only a heart for learning, but also a love for her faith. It’s a joy to see her embrace her Catholic faith and to share it with her peers. She takes what she has learned in the classroom and applies it to her life beyond the walls of Mater Dei – to her friends, family, and Youth Faith Formation (YFF) students. To top it off, I have the honor to learn from her as well!  Congratulations, Alayna!”  Alayna is the daughter of Steven and Susan Heiligenstein and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.  She will receive certificates for a slice of pizza, donut, and soda courtesy of Casey’s General Store.

Landon Albers
Congratulations to sophomore Landon Albers, our Student of the Week for the week of March 16!  In her nomination, science teacher Mrs. Christine Gramann stated, “Landon, who is in my period 4/5 biology class, walks in each day ready to learn and with a smile on his face.  In addition, he displays model student characteristics.  One of his greatest qualities as a student is his readiness to ask questions to clarify his understanding.  He always makes sure that he understands the directions for any given task, and his classroom work is never completed carelessly or hastily because he focuses to ensure his assignments meet the necessary criteria required. From the very first day of class, Landon has shown a positive attitude towards the subject matter.  He is cooperative as well as a leader in the class by showing others his positive academic habits.  He is always willing to add his insight to classroom discussion, which promotes better understanding of concepts for the entire class.  Finally, Landon also shows compassion for others when asked for prayer requests.  Congratulations, Landon!”  Landon is the son of Dean and Marleen Albers and a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church.  He will receive certificates for a slice of pizza, donut, and soda courtesy of Casey’s General Store.

Additionally, she asks insightful questions and has gone above and beyond expectations during this difficult transition from the classroom to online learning.
