Basketball Knights Advance to IHSA Final Four

Boys BasketballGeneral NewsComments Off on Basketball Knights Advance to IHSA Final Four

Join us in congratulating our Basketball Knights on reaching the IHSA Class 2A Final Four!  Unfortunately, the IHSA Boys Basketball State Tournament was then canceled due to concerns related to COVID-19.

The Knights’ journey to the state tournament included winning the IHSA Class 2A Gillespie Regional, Shelbyville Sectional, and Carbondale Super-Sectional.  In addition, at the time of the abrupt end to their season, the Knights were on a 13-game winning streak and had won 24 of their last 26 games.

The Knights (30-5) were the program’s third team to achieve thirty wins in a season and the fourth team to advance to the state finals.

We thank the players, head coach Mr. Ron Schadegg, the assistant coaches, and the parents for their dedication!

We offer special recognition to our seniors, who are pictured after winning the IHSA Class 2A Carbondale Super-Sectional: Zach Napovanice, Grant Goebel, Jacob Schadegg, Tanner Gerdes, Ben Kassen, and Caleb Zurliene.
