The Mater Dei family is proud to announce that our Catholic Schools Week Sumo Wrestling Charity Challenge raised an amazing total of $4,620 for Maren Poettker and her family!  Maren, a three-year-old battling Neuroblastoma, is the daughter of Chris ’01 and Neely Poettker of Aviston, as well as the niece of Tracy (Poettker) Millard ’94 (mother of freshman Mason Millard) and Shelly (Poettker) Spears ’88 (mother of junior Morgan Spears).

Having doubled our donation goal of $2,000, Principal Dennis Litteken and ten teachers sumo wrestled during our CSW Pep Rally on Friday, February 1!

In addition, the Mater Dei family donated nearly 800 toiletry items for both the Night Drop-In Center and the Outreach Ministry Center sponsored by St. Vincent de Paul Society (SVDP) of Belleville.

As always, we commend the Mater Dei family for serving as our brother’s keeper!
