The Mater Dei girls basketball team won its fourth straight regional championship with a 57-51 win over Highland at the IHSA Class 3A regional held at Mater Dei February 14. The Lady Knights basketball program has now won 19 regional championships.

In their attempt to win their third straight sectional, the Lady Knights defeated Carterville 55-46 in the IHSA Class 3A sectional semifinal game held at Salem High School, but fell to Effingham 42-40 in the championship game. The Lady Knights ended their season with a 23-8 record.
