The Mater Dei St. Vincent de Paul Society is pleased to announce that during the first quarter, our students, administration, faculty and staff donated an amazing total of $5,268.89 to our weekly missions and special collections, which are held each Wednesday.

Specifically, a total of $1,575.15 was donated for the class missions: the Class of 2021 supports Sr. Thea Bowman School in East St. Louis; the Class of 2020 supports St. Anne Mission Hospital in Kenya, Africa; the Class of 2019 supports orphanages in Haiti and Venezuela; and the Class of 2018 supports the Santa Clara Scholarship Fund for students in Guatemala.

In addition, the Mater Dei community raised $1,239.70 for Catholic Relief Services for Hurricane Harvey relief; $1,478 for the Belleville Diocese St. Vincent de Paul Society from our Walk for the Poor; $621.08 for the National Council of the U.S. Society of St. Vincent de Paul for Hurricane Irma relief; and $354.96 for Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, a residential home for abused, homeless, and neglected children.

We commend and thank our students, administration, faculty and staff for living the Gospel through their commitment to helping those in need.  Their generosity is truly amazing!
